Dreams by Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

The Silverton Poetry Association will host the eighth annual Silverton Poetry Festival the week of April 5-13 at locations including the Gordon House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Mt. Angel Abbey Library Auditorium designed by Alvar Aalto, the historic White Steeple Gallery and the Wolf Building, and Silver Falls Vineyards.  Festival events will include readings open to community participation as well as three public readings by recognized, published, and award-winning poets.

The Festival finale on April 13 will be the popular Feast of Poets, held at the Silver Falls Vineyards on Cascade Highway south of Silverton, with a bounty of edible delights to complement readings by invited poets.

All public events are free.
